Joel Munson called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.

 

50/50 drawing held by Larry Barnhart, 13/13, the money was donated back by Gary Smith.

 

Treasurer’s report from Deb Bomysoad, paid 224.20 for logo wear account now down to $4,168. Motion made to move bank accounts to GHS or Citizens bank. Seconded and carried unanimously.

 

Sandy read old business.

 

Danielle is still working still working on stickers.

 

Dick Knapp state in order to go through the State Park we need to have Land Owner permission on each side before he can get his part going.

 

June AMA race update we can sell drinks and pizza. Larry Barnhart has a contact to get soda and water. We need to get coffee, creamer, sugar, and cups, breakfast pizza, pretzels, mustard and regular pizza.  Kids race starts at 8:30 volunteers should come up Lippa Road to Terry Road. Volunteers are Danielle, Josh, Gary, Mike Rhodes, Mark, Byran, Joel, Larry and Sandy. Byran will try to get coffee pot from Santaria Springs Fire Department. Larry can get cups and a 10x10 tent. Possibly bring generator for freezers and microwave or grill for pretzels and keeping pizzas warm and drinks cold. We will use nail aprons to collect the money and four wheelers with coolers to distribute drinks on the track. Deb will get money together for change, $1’s, $5’s and $10’s a total of a couple hundred dollars worth. Logo merchandise will be available at the fundraiser.

 

August AMA race 8/19 – 8/20: Volunteers are Sandy, Mark, Joel, Bryan, Mike, Josh and Danielle. Joel will put out an email to request others to volunteer.

 

Joel proposed that we change our membership form to include PAC information and preferred method of contact. Mark made a motion that we make the changes and Rick seconded it – motion carried unanimously.

 

Whitney Point Club is selling a Bombi groomer next year and wants $12,000 for it with a drag. It doesn’t have a blade. Dick Knapp has the manual for it. We will look into buying a Skandic or Alpine and drag and request that Whitney Point hold off on selling the groomer until they talk to us.

 

Joel Munson will be going to Dick Knapp’s to work on a grooming policy (on of the requirements from NYSSA).

 

Mark discussed the need to revise the By-Laws. The original by-laws were based on the Whitney Point By-laws and were started so that the BC Sno-Riders could get tax-exempt status.

 

Mark read Article VIII and made a motion that we waive the article for the meeting so that the By-Laws could be changed. Motion was carried and Dick Knapp abstained.

Meetings have been changed to the second Monday of the month at the Hitching Post at 7:00 pm.

 

GPS update: Gander Mountain has the unit on sale with software and adapter for 550. Rick will investigate the ability to purchase it at a discount and let Sandy know.


Trail Update: Looking to increase mileage by making a trail to the Red Barrel in Harpursville, add Exxon trail, the Hitchin Post Trail, Hook-up to Docs and the Scott Phelps trail to our funded trails. Currently we have verbal landowners ok. Dick Knapp will meet with Trail coordinators and update quad maps and take them to Broome County for us. It will require about a one-hour meeting to draw on the maps.  A meeting was set for May 3rd at 7:00 pm at the Hitchin Post.

 

Railroad update: Henry Wiesman from Broome County wants to schedule a meeting with our club, Steve Johnson and other interested parties to see what the next steps are. He will call us once the meeting is scheduled. Ed Hart and Henry are talking about how to get the Railroad.  People interested in going to the meeting are Larry, Gary , Josh, Mark, Mike R, Joel, Rick and Dick. Joel drove the RR tracks to gauge what needs to be done.  There is a need for lots and lots of bridges, ramps and guardrails. Once at Windsor we will need to get around State Route 17. Dick suggests that we get a TOPO map and put some heads together to see what options we have.  PA club will meet us in Damascus.

 

Joel made a motion that we join the STSTA (Southern Tier Snowmobile Trail Association) motion was seconded and carried unanimously.

 

Sign orders can be done through NYSSA with a choice of vendors. VOSS or Scenic, the cost of signs ranges from $3.15 to 3.80.

 

Any documentation goes through Dick for Prior approval and he submits it to Ed Hart.

Danielle will order 50 more shirts to sell at $15.00 each. 5 medium, 5 Large, 15 each of XL, XXL and XXXL.

 

There was a discussion on the pay-off of the Skandic to Kenny Westfall. Mark made a motion to pay Kenny when the remainder of the 30% money comes it. Joel seconded it and it was carried with Larry Barnhart opposed.

 

Danielle displayed the BC Sno-Riders Banner and it was approved by the Board of Directors and voted on to go ahead and pay Danielle for the banner.
